10 steps to booking your dream wedding from leading wedding experts Boutique Hotel Group

Your wedding day is the biggest day of your life, and there’s so much to think about. That’s why leading wedding expert Matthew Naylor, Sales and Marketing Director from The Boutique Hotel Group has put together these 10 easy steps so you won’t put a foot wrong

#1 Set an estimated budget

This is probably going to be the most boring part of planning your wedding, but you’ll want to have a budget to spend on your wedding from the start. We recommend you set a realistic and idealistic budget then meet them somewhere in the middle, the last thing you’ll want is to find your dream venue, dress or supplier and realise it’s way out of budget

#2 Write your guest list

First of all, you need to decide on guest numbers, this won’t be confirmed until you actually book a wedding venue but you can start to narrow down who you want to invite to your wedding. Concentrate on people you know will support you from the beginning – your bridesmaids and groomsmen!

#3 Set a theme

Before you start looking at any kind of venue or dates for your wedding, you’ll need to set a theme as this will help tie everything together in the long run. It may help by deciding if you want a summer or winter wedding first, then pick a colour scheme and so on.

#4 Visit your dream wedding venues and set the date

Remember to take into account your budget and always visit a range of venues – but remember, most venues have a bit of wiggle room on price so don’t be afraid to negotiate! Think about your guests too, do they have accommodation on-site or nearby, do they have wedding planners who are going to help you plan your wedding from start to finish?

#5 Send your wedding invites

Traditionally, your wedding invites are sent out 6-8 weeks before your wedding. Remember to include the theme you’ve carefully chosen so that people know what outfit to wear. Of course, you’ll also want to include the date, time, location and an RSVP deadline around 2-3 weeks before your wedding.

#6 Book your suppliers

This is where the theme you set will really start to turn into a reality. Think about ways that you can make your guests feel special and thank them for coming with imaginative wedding favours. But remember this is your day so make sure everything is to your taste and not anyone else’s!

#7 Buy the bridal attire

Take your bridesmaids/groomsmen along to pick your bridal attire, perhaps the most exciting part! Remember to take some accessories with you as this will really change how the dress/suit looks! Remember that this is your special day, so take your friends and family’s opinions on board but ultimately this is your decision!

#8 Book your honeymoon

Remember, your honeymoon is your chance to relax and enjoy your life with your new wife/husband – so make sure you book somewhere special!

#9 Get Wed

Wake up refreshed, give yourself plenty of time to get ready and most importantly RELAX! Most people are super nervous on the day of their wedding but this is meant to be the happiest day of your life so enjoy it! If you’ve planned to perfection then nothing can possibly go wrong.

#10 Reflect

Take the time to reflect post-wedding, this way you will remember it for years to come and make your new journey as a married couple that bit more special.
