5 Minutes with Pandora
Craig Hough grabs a coffee with Copehangen based Francesco Terzo and Filippo Ficarelli, VP Creative Directors at Pandora
How would you describe your customer?
βThinking of one woman only is too limited for PANDORA and proposing one idea of a woman is too limited for our consumers. Women and their roles and situations are changing, and they are conscious of this. When we design, we design to inspire women more than celebrate them, in a more active way, not telling but inspiring.β
What drew you to work at Pandora?
βWe really align with the values of the brand. Pandora is a brand that represents self-expression with jewellery that goes beyond status or trends and is instead profoundly and personally meaningful.β
Where does your passion for jewellery come from?
βThe self-expression that it offers. By wearing jewellery, you instantly become a storyteller, expressing your personality in nuanced, individual ways by choosing the style and pieces that mean most to you and reflect your stories.β
What is your personal favourite jewellery?
Francesco: βI have a passion for rings and love mixing vintage rings with new pieces to express and reflect my personal style.
Filippo: βA necklace from my grandmother.β
How has your relationship with Klarna and the service they provide helped Pandora's continued success?
βKlarna is the perfect way to shop flexibly all year round, and we are delighted that by partnering with them we can now offer our customers a best-in-class shopping experience.β
What can customers look forward to in 2021?
βJoy, colour, connection and self-expression. The new year is a time of reflection on the previous year and anticipation of the year to come β a time of reinvention, evolution and fresh starts. We want this collection to be a reminder of the joy we can always find inside ourselves, regardless of whatβs happening on the outside. We hope these designs will inspire strength as we look to the future and set positive intentions for 2021.β
Could you share your top 5 new pieces for this year?
βWe love the idea of combining lots of colourful designs together to represent an inclusive, diverse spectrum of all different kinds of people and ideas. We suggest stacking the delicate Colourful Solitaire Rings together to create a beautiful multidimensional effect. Those, along with the Colourful Solitaire Huggie Hoop Earrings, have a simplicity that allows them to be styled in an elegant, minimalist way β or combined with charms, clips and bracelets in various metals and hues for a more playful, maximalist vibe. No matter how you style the new designs, we hope Pandora fans will be inspired to start a conversation and tell their own unique story through colour, whether itβs starting with a single bright pop or feeling confident wearing lots of pieces in a rainbow of hues.β
