Blue Bay Travel Turns 15 Years Old
Blue Bay Travel Ltd celebrates its 15th birthday at the start of December. The company is one of the UK’s leading independent travel agents and operate under three different sub-branches, Caribbean Warehouse, Tropical Warehouse and Xclusivity.

The Staffordshire based travel agent was founded by Stuart and Angela Wilson in 2003 and has since cemented itself as experts in long-haul travel through multiple award victories and happy holidaymakers - over 22,500 in the past 11 months. Blue Bay Travel enters its 16th year coming off the back of an impressive 12 months which saw the number of bookings increase by 42.8% against 2017’s figures. In January 2018, sales records for both a day and a week were smashed; a perfect start to a year full of continued growth.
CEO and founder of Blue Bay Travel Ltd, Stuart Wilson, said that ‘since the first booking when we were based in my garage in 2003, the growth of Blue Bay Travel has been incredible and it is something I will be eternally proud of. In 2017, the company received an investment of £6.5 million from private equity firm LDC which resulted in a new online booking system, tripling of the business office space and the launch of Xclusivity - a sub-branch of Blue Bay Travel providing bespoke luxury long and short haul holidays. Both 2016 and 2017 saw Blue Bay Travel smash the previous year’s figures for revenue, profit and conversion and 2018 has already smashed the total set in 2017 with six weeks of the year still remaining - further reinforcing itself as one of the most exciting growing travel agents. Managing Director, Maxine Rowland, said: ‘It’s truly amazing, we are delighted to keep smashing our records, it really sets a great benchmark, and we have to now, keep working on improving these figures even more.’
Over the years, Blue Bay Travel has picked up over 80 awards, the first coming in 2005 when they picked up Sandals STAR Awards Top UK Call Centre. Since then an attractive plethora of awards have been collected such as Top Independent Agent at the Virgin Holidays Awards in 2011, 2016’s Top Caribbean Agency at GMT2 Awards, Call Centre of the Year at TTG’s annual awards in 2015 and most recently Online Travel Agency of the Year 2018 at Gold Medal & Travel2’s award ceremony.
