Build My Gift - Meet the Founders

Launched in 2017, Build My Gift was created out of a need for better gifting solutions. Gifting options have previously been limited to ready-made hampers, often containing unwanted items, or the option to make a hamper at home, which can be costly or time consuming. When a close family member fell ill and had to be admitted to hospital the usual flowers and gifts just didn’t seem appropriate – they were neither personal nor impactful. We were bored of cookie-cutter gifting and frustrated with the lack of choice on the market, it was then that we came up with the concept behind Build My Gift. More than ever people are focused on personalisation but as they become increasingly time poor they require a one-stop-shop – Build My Gift was the answer to this. Bringing convenience, ease and quality, Build My Gift can fulfil every gifting need!

We spotted a gap in the market for bespoke, luxury gift boxes and it was from here we came up with the idea for a new e-commerce business. Working with leading luxury brands, we offer a 360-degree service covering corporate, weddings, events & your everyday gifting needs. It ranges from the online e-commerce platform for the consumer-focused element of our business, as well as our bespoke offering through our Corporate and Wedding Gift Concierge services.

BuildMyGift.com offers a fully personalised, luxury gift box service, where customers can choose from more than 400 products available online. For Corporate we can offer a fully branded and bespoke service to ensure that employees and other stakeholders feel rewarded and recognised at key times. Offering a truly bespoke service, our Wedding Gift Concierge Service covers everything from Bridesmaid & Groomsman Proposal gifts to Wedding Welcome Gifts and Favour boxes.

Meet The Founders

About Ras

Co-founder of Build My Gift Ras holds a Master’s degree in HR Management and has worked for luxury goods conglomerate LVMH - Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton - and the BBC before setting up Build My Gift. "When choosing a career path it was never my intention to start my own business or be an entrepreneur. I took a traditional route of degree, masters and then into my first job – a HR role. Working in HR for more than five years and progressing in my career, it wasn’t until I was hit with a lightbulb moment that I decided I wanted more."

About Manveel

Manveel holds a Business Management degree from Aston University. His love for taking on new challenges and entrepreneurial spirit has seen him manage several businesses since graduating and led him to co-found Build My Gift! "Over the past year since setting up BuildMyGift.com, I have come to realise owning my own business is so much more than just a job or a career, it’s a passion, because if you don’t have this passion you’re going to fail."
