Elliot Hill appointed as Executive Chef for The Chester Grosvenor
Chesterโs leading hotel has brought in a new, high-level Executive Chef to oversee its freshly rebranded refined dining restaurant
The Chester Grosvenor, a five-star hotel that sits in the very heart of the city, has appointed a new Executive Chef to head up the food offering at its โArkleโ restaurant โ which was previously known as โSimon Radley at the Chester Grosvenorโ.
Elliot Hill, who comes to the hotel having formerly been Head Chef at Liverpoolโs Panoramic 34 restaurant, is taking up the reins from its former Executive Chef, Simon Radley, who left The Chester Grosvenor in October 2021, after a total of over 30 years at the hotel.
Tasked with bringing in a creative flair that complements the hotelโs reputation for hospitality excellence, alongside the โArkleโ restaurant, Elliot will also oversee the hotelโs 2 AA Rosette restaurant โLa Brasserieโ, as well as the afternoon tea and banqueting functions.
Elliot comes to the Chester Grosvenor with a wealth of experience, having most recently been Head Chef at Panoramic 34 in Liverpool, where he earnt and retained an entry in the Michelin guide, and previously as part of the Bespoke Hotels family, holding the position of Head Chef at Oddfellows Chester, where he executed the rebranding of the food business and its โCultivatedโ restaurant.
Elliotโs culinary expertise has seen him come to national prominence, having been a finalist in 2021โs National Chef of the Year competition and a semi-finalist the previous year, while he also made it to the final six contestants in The Staff Canteen Chef of the Year 2021.
The Chester Grosvenorโs General Manager, Richard Grove, commenting on the appointment, said: โElliot is a creative and ambitious chef. He is passionate about food and the development of those working with him, his enthusiasm is contagious, and I am confident he will inspire the whole team and be a real asset to the hotel.โ
He added: โThe Chester Grosvenor has a reputation for outstanding cuisine, and weโre looking forward to Elliot enhancing that reputation as he moulds our offering to fit with his vision.โ
Elliot Hill, who is Chester-born and raised, said: โI am proud and honoured to join The Chester Grosvenor and head up the kitchen in my home city. Not only is the hotel a Chester icon, but a culinary institution that has led the way for decades. I am incredibly excited to join the whole team, where Iโll seek to continue and build on the tradition of excellence and be part of the hotelโs future. I also cannot wait to launch our restaurant โArkleโ, a refined dining experience delivered the Cestrian way.โ
The Arkle restaurant is set to open March 2022.
