Hammond Extra Part-time Training, Full Hammond Experience, Launching in September 2024
Starting September 2024, Hammond Extra expands on The Hammond’s renowned performing arts training with a brand-new selection of part-time courses
The Hammond offers specialist, full-time performing arts training to students across school, college and degree courses. Existing to inspire, nurture, and educate the next generation of performers, The Hammond fosters a culture of excellence, curiosity, storytelling, and innovation – as acknowledged by our 2024 ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating.
Recognised a national centre of excellence for Dance training, we are one of four members of the prestigious Music and Dance Scheme (MDS), which provides funded places for talented dancers aged eleven to sixteen.
Additionally, in recent years, we have further expanded our provision for Acting and Music training, developing our Acting & Musical Theatre (AMT) course for students in Years 7 - 11 and our Acting & Performance (AP) course for sixth form aged students, to support aspiring young actors, musicians, and performers in reaching their full potential as creative artists.
Our School Dance, AMT & AP courses are delivered alongside an engaging and enriching academic curriculums, with extensive GCSE and A Level options on offer. Students thrive in small, dedicated classes, creating an environment for both artistic and academic success.
We also offer Level 6 Professional Trinity Diploma (Dance or Musical Theatre) courses, and a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre Performance, providing the highest standards of education, training and guidance required for a career in professional dance and musical theatre performance.
As of September 2024, we’re excited to announce the addition of a new innovative provision of part-time courses make Hammond training more accessible than ever before – Hammond Extra.
Our inaugural Hammond Extra provision will feature courses in Acting, Musical Theatre, Classical Dance, and Dance. Each pathway provides the perfect opportunity to refine specialised skills under the guidance of both The Hammond’s industry-leading faculty and carefully selected industry professionals – without the considerable commitment of attending The Hammond on a full-time basis.
Each course delivers 30 hours of training spread conveniently over 10 weeks. Classes will take place on Sundays in The Hammond’s cutting-edge studios. The fee for each 10-week course is a £275. Hammond Extra classes are available for students aged 7 to 17+ and we cater to four distinct age groups to ensure tailored training for every stage of a younger performer’s journey.
