Meet our Fashion Expert
Introducing Martine Alexander, the uber talented Celebrity Stylist and Wardrobe Concierge who is now set to be the newest monthly contributor to The Cheshire Magazine
Back in 2005, Martine decided to leave her career in IT to return to her fashion and styling roots and follow her dreams of helping people look and feel incredible. She retrained as a personal stylist and since then, achieved a reputation as one of the north westโs most sought-after and credible fashion experts with a client base including celebrities, busy mums, high profile professionals and fashion brands.
Martine is based in the north west but works nationally with clients dotted all over the country. But what is a wardrobe concierge?
Martine explains, โMy clients are busy, so as their wardrobe concierge I give them the time back to get on with their lives by managing their wardrobe. Itโs my job to make sure their wardrobe works for them. Part of the role is to do a seasonal closet edit, where I go into a clientโs home and advise them on new ways to wear their clothes and also help them get rid of items they are not wearing. I also go shopping for clients and their children taking clothes to their home or pack their suitcase for their holiday, with outfits organised and photographed, offering them time to focus on helping everyone else pack.โ
Martine is also a celebrity stylist with an impressive clients list that currently includes actress Catherine Tyldesley, Olympic gold medal winner Rebecca Adlington, and television presenter Kym Marsh. Martine says, โI style my clients for red carpets, television appearances and for magazine shoots. If a client has an upcoming event, I go shopping to source outfits and accessories. My job, as your stylist, is to take the pressure out of you looking amazing โ whatever that pressure may be. The most important aspect of working with you is building a relationship with you, so you know I understand you, your lifestyle, your needs and also your insecurities.โ
Each month Martine is set to unleash her expert advice, but what can readers expect? Martine explains, โReaders can expect an exclusive insight into a mix of luxury and high street fashion mixed with sustainable and independent businesses they may not have heard of. I may choose an item of clothing and offer 5 ways to wear it. Iโll also offer behind the scenes access to fashion events and shoots, highlight my favourite fashion finds and answer any readerโs questions.โ
