Ribble Valley E-Bikes
There’s an e-bike for all cyclists, whether you’re a beginner that needs a boost, a commuter cruising to work the eco-friendly way, or an off-roader looking for more performance power
E-bikes work just like a conventional bicycle but with an integrated electrical drive system. (E stands for electric!) Simple to work, the motor operates only while you’re pedalling, so it gives you just a bit of help up the hills or more cycling stamina over longer distances. You choose how much assistance you need and you’ll feel all the fresh air and fitness benefits of any traditional bike, but you’ll cover more miles with the same amount of effort.
Ribble Valley e-Bikes is based in Dunsop Bridge in the heart of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Driving through the surrounding scenery alone is worth a trip, but combine it with hiring an e-bike to really explore the area and you have an ideal day out. Aside from the views, the region also has some top pubs and restaurants for when you’ve cycled up an appetite. If you subsequently go on to buy an e-bike from Roger and the team, the cost of rental will be deducted from the price (The ideal way to try before you buy).
The health advantages of getting out on your bike in the winter sunshine are countless. According to British Cycling, studies have shown that regular cyclists enjoy the general health of someone approximately 10 years younger. As a low impact exercise, it is much kinder on your joints than many other activities, and outdoor exercise can contribute to better mental health and wellbeing too. Combine crisp blue skies and fresh air with the endorphins released during exercise and an e-bike ride is set to put you in a great mood.
As with any cycling, there’s no such thing as a ‘typical’ e-bike rider. Ribble Valley e-Bikes regularly welcomes expert riders seeking the latest technology, experienced cyclists looking to try a different riding experience, occasional cyclists who want to improve their fitness or returning riders who need to rebuild their confidence. E-bikes are also popular with older cyclists who find hills a bit harder (or who want to keep up with the grandchildren!), and those recovering from injury.
With a huge range of brands, there’s something for everyone:
There are classic urban road bikes and hybrids from Raleigh and Moustache.
Bianchi, the premium Italian brand, is best known for performance road bikes but also produces a range of mountain, gravel, hybrid and commuter models.
Keen mountain bikers can choose off-road fun and thrills with GasGas, Husqvarna or Haibike.
Eco-conscious cyclists can opt for the RECO from Advanced Bikes; a great all-rounder with a 100% recyclable carbon composite frame.
If you’re a seasoned cyclist and you have a wish list of components in mind for your dream bike, Velo de Ville offers a bespoke build service.
When it comes to getting jobs done or enjoying stress-free family days out complete with picnics, Ribble Valley e-bikes has cargo bikes for leisure or business use, as well as trailers, kids’ seats and more, making your e-bike more versatile than ever.
They are a cost-effective and healthy way to commute too, and with the Cycle To Work scheme still in place, you could save up to 47% on your new e-bike.
A great way to do your bit for the environment and stick to your New Years’ resolutions in the months ahead.
