If you are like me then you are a person who enjoys their food, yet spends far too long staring at the shelves in supermarkets wondering what to have. And then you find yourself eating the same five meals over and over. When life is go, go, go, having a tasty balanced meal on the table with little to no effort to make sounds like a dream. Well recently COOK removed the supermarket meal planning, the meal prep time and introduced me to just some of what they had to offer.

Over the course of a week I was treated to several dishes all of which were excellent! I couldn’t believe the meals were frozen. I tend to stay away from frozen food under the belief that fresh food is always best, however I have been proven wrong. Every main meal I consume usually involves meat and I would normally not look twice at a Vegan alternative. However, I was very impressed by the Vegan dishes I tried from this sample of what COOK has to offer. The Vegan Shepherdless Pie and the Vegan Mexican Three Bean Chilli, both were delicious and have opened my eyes to Vegan food.

The other dishes that were enjoyed were equally as tasty– Green Thai Chicken Curry – Lemon & Herb Chicken pot – Tomato & Pesto Chicken – Chicken & Mushroom Lasagne. The two more familiar dishes, the Green Thai Chicken Curry and the Chicken & Mushroom Lasagne were restaurant quality. The Tomato & Pesto Chicken is a dish that leaves you wanting more, I couldn’t get enough of it and the sauce was perfectly balanced. The Lemon & Herb Chicken Pot was full of flavour and does well as a light lunch when you need something to eat quick without just reaching for a stodgy sandwich.

After each meal I am left reflecting on what COOK has to offer – which is quality food in every dish. It is clear how much thought has gone into all aspects of COOK’s service. The meals were delivered in a temperature-controlled van, the package itself contained many frozen gel blocks to keep the food as cold as possible until they are ready for your home freezer. There is a high level of thought, passion and skill that has gone into each and every dish. It’s easy to see why so many of COOK’s dishes have been winning awards for their great taste.

All this combined has made my boring, home cooked meals a thing of the past, COOK will certainly play a large part in my culinary future.
