Weeks spent within our homes has only made a trip deep into the countryside more appealing, or a short jaunt into the city feeling as exciting as jetting to far-flung destinations. We look at some of the best UK staycations for you to enjoy this summer

Explorers Kids Club at Gleneagles, Scotland

This summer, Scott Dunn invites families to step into the great outdoors as it brings its award-winning Explorers Kids Club to the iconic Gleneagles in Scotland. A first for the UK– Scott Dunn has joined forces with Gleneagles to curate a fun-filled action-packed programme, exploring the hotel’s glorious playground of extensive activities and country pursuits within its 850-acre sporting estate. Starting on 1st August 2020, the Explorers’ programme will run as a pop-up throughout the summer – with activities carefully planned to suit the interests of each age group from 4 months to mid-teens. Ideal for families yearning for fresh air and green space, Explorers at Gleneagles is a chance for children to reconnect with their peers and engage in a host of stimulating supervised activities, leaving parents able to enjoy some much-needed downtime, safe in the knowledge that their wee ones are in capable hands.

With all this newfound time on their hands, parents can relax in the pool and health club, tee off on three championship golf courses or hone their equestrian, fishing or clay pigeon shooting skills. For a feeling of pure escape, there are plenty of hiking trails on the doorstep that take in the spectacular local landscape. Refreshed and re-energised, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the long summer evenings, typical of a Scottish summer, together as a family, with relaxed yet refined dining options at one of the hotel’s six restaurants. The hotel has developed a meticulous new set of safety protocols, to provide the highest standards of safety at all times.  An enhanced set of hygiene and safety measures have been implemented across the estate to provide even greater peace of mind.

The Explorers Kids Club at Gleneagles starts from Β£5,5950 for a family of four for five nights and from Β£8,450 for seven nights – both on a bed and breakfast basis.
