What’s your design story - how did you come to be an interior designer?

I studied interior design at the Chelsea School of Art, before going to work for the Orthet Group where I specialised in boutique design. I worked with high end designer brands including Armani, Prada, Gucci, Fendi and DKNY. I then created my own interior design business, based in Cheshire.

How would you describe your design style?

I would describe my style as mid-century modern. I am a huge fan of designers such as Charles and Ray Eames, Eero Saarinen and Hans Wegner.

Who inspires you?

Philippe Starck is a huge inspiration, with his wide range of designs.

How would you describe the customer experience at Chic Interiors?

At Chic Interiors, customer service goes far beyond our shop floor. We have a dedicated team, focused on delivering outstanding service. Our experienced staff have a wide knowledge in all of our products, which is reflected in the Chic Interiors experience.

What led to you opening your Knutsford store in 2017?

There are many factors to consider when opening a retail store, many years of planning are involved. When opening a successful bricks and mortar store, you need a good business plan in place. This includes market research and a strong legal structure. Location is also paramount.  The key to success is all about staff, knowledge and understanding your market.

In April this year you moved to new premises in Nantwich, completing half a million pounds in renovations both inside and outside the building. Why was it important for you to combine a place for people to eat, drink and shop?

We wanted to provide a unique shopping experience at Chic Interiors - a place where customers can shop, relax and unwind, enjoying all that Chic Interiors has to offer. I wanted to create a beautifully curated space with a luxurious patisserie, scattered pink velvet seating, where customers can enjoy an Illy coffee and cake, or indulge in a brunch, light lunch or afternoon tea, with a glass of complimentary fizz.

What’s next for Chic Interiors?

Due to Covid, certain plans have been put on hold – however, we are planning a trip to the United Arab Emirates when restrictions have been lifted. We can’t say anymore for now…

Chic Interiors offers a full range of interior design services both residential and commercial
