Cheshire welcomes its first dedicated Indian Cookery School and plastic free spice store
My Curry Club - Cheshire's very first dedicated Indian Cookery School is due to open their doors at Cranage Trade Park. The business has already won third place at Salters Den this year and has been busy inspiring and teaching luxury home-based classes throughout 2018 and due to popular demand My Curry Club will is now settling down in Cranage to allow enthusiasts and foodies from Liverpool, Manchester and Belfast where the flavour-filled classes have already developed a reputation.
The master of spices Habiba Chowdhury is the woman behind the idea. A passionate chef and foodie Habiba is on a mission to eliminate the stigmas attached to 'Indian' food being too greasy or too spicy. Her teaching methods focus on introducing authentic dishes and bold flavour combinations rarely available on menus. All of her classes lead you by the hand and take you on the same journey of discovery and are suitable from beginners to professional chefs alike.
“Northwich is changing and Cheshire has a massive foodie following. For me, marrying my British & Bangladeshi heritage is what makes what I have to offer unique and exciting. Great food leaves a lasting impression and creates a memory that cannot be forgotten. I’m so pleased that I get to welcome all people into my kitchen to learn more about creating delicious food.”
My Curry Club seems to be the hit of Cheshire when it comes to learning, showcasing and eating, reflected in her 100% 5 star customer rating and glowing reviews. Habiba is on a mission to revolutionise the way in which we understand Indian cuisine in the UK. With over 70% of the British Indian Restaurant industry being Bangladeshi-owned, Habiba is passionate about enlightening and educating people of regional foods and flavours from other areas. That way when they leave My Curry Club they are equipped with skills to help them cook at home and the knowledge to move away from their regular choices when eating out.
“Habiba, thank you so much for my first 'My Curry Club' lesson today. Whilst I wouldn't describe myself as a novice cook, I can honestly say the Achari Murgh you taught me to make today was without question the best curry I have ever made. Before today I was just blindly following recipes, now I really understand the roles of the spices and the layers of the dish and how to get the best out of each stage of cooking. I can't wait for next week's lesson” Paul Bell, Weaverham.
My Curry Club offers luxury interactive hands on classes, social and private group events, corporate cooking, private catering and local charity cook ups. But it doesn't stop there; there will also be a spice store available to the public for all their cooking needs.
Grand Opening Ceremony for the public on 23rd June at 10am
