The Manor House Alsager is located in beautiful East Cheshire and allows our guests to effortlessly retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy a refreshing countryside getaway. Additionally, we are perfectly positioned an hour away from the picturesque Peak District, allowing guests the opportunity to indulge in a day of invigorating hikes and then rejuvenate with a twilight relaxing spa session and overnight stay at our spa and hotel.
What can you tell us about the history of the venue?
Originally a farmhouse, this 17th century architectural building has been running as a hotel for the past 30 years, with our family buying the business over 10 years ago. My brother and I currently oversee both the hotel and spa business, all with support from our parents, upholding the family-run essence at the heart of the business.
Features from the original design and architecture still remain, notably the grand wooden beams located in the Stables restaurant and treatment rooms. We believe it’s so important to keep elements of history within the hotel and spa, recognising the importance of how this history brings character and narrative to the spa and hotel.
Of all the facilities, which is your favourite?
My personal favourite is the Panoramic Pavilion, located out in the English Countryside Spa Garden. This serene spot is so tranquil and peaceful and really makes for a true escape, here guests can unwind in the calm atmosphere surrounded by the beautiful countryside views. The relaxing space is enhanced by the heated floors and heated loungers, which facilitate deep, penetrating warmth that envelops the body as guests recline and relax.
A fun element of this room is the hanging swing seats, and the room is held at around 30-35 degrees Celsius. This tricks the body into thinking it is starting to get a fever, in turn strengthening the immune system. So not only do guests relax the body, mind and soul but they also can improve their immune system at the same time.
What makes a visit to your venue stand out?
The standout element undoubtedly has to be the Swim Up Bar, which is the first of its kind in the UK. This innovative bar is connected to the heated vitality pool, which is perfect for all-year-round relaxation, complete with hydrotherapy jets within the beds and benches, helping release any tension. Whilst relaxing in the pool guests can release some extra tension with a delicious cocktail, or in the colder months enjoy a warm beverage, making it the perfect spot to be no matter the weather. This unique space is a wonderful spot for solo spa-goers, couples, friends and groups to gather and relax in pure luxury.
What packages are you offering for 2023?
Throughout the year we offer seasonal packages, that include access to the indoor and outdoor spa, as well as a delicious afternoon tea or mezze platter in the pool house. Our Lazy Spa Sunday package is particularly popular, this package includes dinner, bed and breakfast, with a bottle of wine at dinner and a spa day on the Monday, and for an extra charge, guests can book in a treatment. This package encompasses everything Manor House Hotel and Spa can offer, whilst meeting the needs and desires of our customers. The rise of wellness prioritisation means that people are often opting to extend their weekends choosing to add an extra day to their weekend to allow for some well-deserved self-care time.
