Cheshire based Kimble Roden share a recent remodel and cottage extension just outside Wilmslow
Kimble Roden is an architect and interior design practice based in Alderley Edge, Cheshire. It was founded over 10 years ago by Edwina Kimble and Emma Roden, who combined their expertise from senior positions in large city centre practices, to create and deliver a high-end turn-key service to their residential clients in and around Cheshire.
The RIBA chartered practice is also SBID (Society of British and International Interior Design) accredited, giving their clients the confidence that the KR team can guide them through the entire process, from conception to completion. They pride themselves in fully committing to every project from initial designs through to overseeing the progression on-site. Their thorough approach ensures the desired vision is going to be delivered and prevents clients from making costly mistakes.
Fairview
Our client engaged us to remodel and extend his cottage sitting within the green belt just outside Wilmslow. The existing house needed updating and the flow of the house didnโt work โ with a series of small rooms upstairs, an oversized lounge at the ground floor, a cramped staircase and a poorly built conservatory to the rear.
One of our major goals for this project was to make the most of the extraordinary views to the rear โ with rolling fields in the foreground and amazing views of the peak district beyond.
By reorganising the space upstairs and extending at first floor, we created two double bedrooms and a master suite with an external balcony and a stunning bathroom. We also installed internal insulation to the walls and roof space to improve the thermal properties of the house.
On the ground floor, the main living space is open plan, however, a further lounge and study have been created to the front of the house by dividing the existing large lounge, thus giving plenty of flexible living accommodation.
The rear of the house, at ground and first floor, has full high glazing framing the fantastic scenery. As you walk through the front door the impact is incredible โ Kimble Roden are extremely proud of this transformation.

The Briefing Meeting: Understanding the brief is fundamental to the design process.
Concept Design Proposal: They bring your vision to life by creating comprehensive design proposals which include 3D drawings, plans and images.
Planning Application: Once the design is approved, they will submit the planning application and deal with the planning department to drive a successful outcome
Detailed Design: Once Planning is granted, they prepare a package of detailed construction drawings and interior packages.
#5 - Project Execution and Delivery: Finally, they oversee the entire build to give you peace of mind and ensure your project is delivered in line with the original vision.
