Celebrating its ninth year, The Deepbridge Chester Arts Fair is taking place virtually online from Friday, November 13 to Sunday, December 13, 2020. Organisers have worked hard to move the event online using  virtual reality technology,  in response to the national Covid-19 restrictions. The online event has been made free to the public and been extended to take place over four weeks rather than just a weekend.

The UK’s favourite artist fair will have plenty in store for everyone, with a curated collection of over 70 British and international artists showcasing over hundreds of pieces of art, including Paintings, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography and Mixed Media artwork.

New for this year, visitors will be able to acquire a set of highly sought after limited edition prints from the Visual Artists Association for a charitable donation  (no minimum amount required). Award-winning artists supporting the #CreateArt4Hope Charity Appeal include Cheshire based hyperrealism artist Samantha Messai, fine art painter Andrew Alan Johnson, emerging sculptor  Jacob Chan,  and international landscape artist Francis Ackland Snow. 100% of proceeds will benefit local charities, including Maggies Centres and also The Hive Youth Zone.

The Fair will host the finalists exhibition of the acclaimed international art prize, the Visual Art Open 2020. Thousands of artists from around the globe have entered the competition with an Β£8,000 prize fund available. Art lovers will be able to see and purchase the work throughout the Fair, as well as voting for their favourite piece online in the People’s Choice Awards.

Speaking on the event Fair Director Laura O’Hare commented: β€œArt has become more important than ever during the pandemic, helping with mental health and uniting the nation. We hope that by moving the Fair online and making it free, will offer a much need opportunity to lift people’s spirits by enjoying a new type art experience from the comfort of their own homes. We are pleased to be raising much needed funds for charities that are affected by the pandemic.  Our exhibitors and sponsors have been very supportive in making this happen, so that visitors don’t miss out.”
